THOMAS W. FINDLEY, M.D., Ph.D.
My approach to patients combines my training and interest in many areas of
medicine and health care. I have a longstanding interest in combining both
traditional and alternative approaches, and received training in both
acupuncture and homeopathy while still in medical school. I was also one of the
co-principle investigators on a center for alternative medicine for persons with
neurological and muscular conditions, sponsored by the NIH at Kessler Institute
for Rehabilitation. I am now involved in a center for treatment of veterans with
medically unexplained conditions http://www.wri.med.va.gov/.
Qualifications:
1973-7 MD Georgetown University
1983 PhD Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation , University of Minnesota
1983 Board Certified, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
1985 Board Certified, American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine
1987-90 Research Director, Rolf Institute
1993 Basic Training, Guild for Structural Integration
1998 Advanced Training, Rolf Institute
For people with very specific problems (for example, a pinched nerve in the
neck) I may initially do a combination of structural integration and physical
medicine to provide a direct impact on the area of greatest problem. I usually
give my clients other exercises as well as directing them to other treatments
which might be of benefit. I was fortunate to do my medical training with the
physician who started the field of Physical Medicine and to benefit from his 30
years of clinical experience, and to receive additional training in anatomy as
part of my course work for my PhD. As a medical student, I introduced Ida Rolf
to Georgetown University, and have continued for 30 years both research and
clinical care.

DEIRDRE CORRIGAN, BA, LMT,
Certified Visionary Cranio-Sacral Work & NER Practitioner
I am an advanced bodyworker with over seven years of experience. I combine
extensive technical knowledge with intuitive healing;integrating Shiatsu,
Visionary Cranio-Sacral Work, Neuro-Energetic Release and Aromatherapy.
My work is deep, effective and gentle. The foundation of my work is Shiatsu, a
Japanese form of massage based on
Chinese Medical theory. I work the with body's energy to help your entire
being. By working with meridians, Shiatsu can go the core of the issues.I have
1,200 hours of training in "Visonary Cranio-Sacral Work" (VCSW) with the
Milne Institute. With VCSW, I endeavor to "see" you on alllevels-- the physical,
the energetic and the spiritual-- affecting the
bones, membranes and fluids nourishing and surrounding the brain and spinal
cord. When there is more freedom and movement in the physical system, our
consciousness changes too. Together we can unwind "archaic
wounds"--traumas stored in the tissues. VSCW is helpful for headaches, TMJ
dysfunction, whiplash, neck issues and lower back pain, among other things.I
am also certified in a relatively new and powerful modality,
Neuro-EnergeticRelease, (NER is a registered TM by Donald Kipp, see
www.body-awareness.com for info) a technique that uses postural analysis and
breath to release the specific postural muscles that pull your bones out of
alignment.I received 1,000 hours of training in Massage & Hydrotherapy at
Fingerlakes School of Massage in 2000. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from
SUNY Binghamton with a BA in Economics and Philosophy. I am currently
studying Acupuncture at the Swedish Institute, and Herbal
Medicine under Jeffrey Yuen.
YOLANDA VASQUEZ, MS., L. Ac. LMT
Yolanda Vasquez graduated with a three year Bachelor’s of Professional
Studies/Master’s degree in Acupuncture. She studied at the Swedish Institute
School of Acupuncture and Oriental studies in New York under the renowned
Dr. Jeffrey Yuen, 88th generation Taoist priest. Her Acupuncture training is
from a Classical Chinese medical perspective, pertaining to various traditions
stemming from Taoist roots and ancient texts. This approach covers
philosophical, psychological and theological aspects of Oriental Medicine when
treating the body-mind-spirit of a patient. Post graduation she has continued
her studies with Jeffrey Yuen, embarking on 1year training in Chinese medical
Aromatherapy and therapeutic strategies. This Chinese medical approach
empowers the therapist to translate knowledge into effective and meaningful
results. Now she specializes in helping treat women who have battled Breast
cancer, for a long-term recovery and survivorship plan that can create a sense
of personal empowerment.
Often times she incorporates the use essential oils in her private practice with
her massage and acupuncture treatments. The Essential Oils are anointed for
their scent and applied to create healing on the multi-layered body-mind-spirit
continuum. She also attained her Massage Therapy License in NYS and
studied at the Swedish Institute. She is dedicated, kind, and compassionate to
her patients and finds that her own continuous self-cultivation will help her fully
integrate what is physical, psychological, and spiritual in order to help patients

Ed Hemberger
Structural Integration* Practitioner
*Based on the teaching methods of Dr. Ida P. Rolf
Ed Hemberger is a holistic practitioner involved in health and bodywork for over 15 years.
He is a massage therapist specializing in sports massage, neuromuscular and deep
tissue. An avid cyclist and athlete himself, Ed enjoys working with athletes to maintain and
fine-tune their performance. He most recently worked with Chris Carmichael, coach to
Lance Armstrong, at the Carmichael Training System Camp in Bullenton, California. Since
2001 Ed has been an assistant massage therapist for the Division II Professional Cycling
Team, the Navigators, whose members include national and Olympic athletes. In 2002 he
was selected to be on the winter sports massage team for the U.S.
Paralympic ski team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2002 Ed restarted and chaired (for three
years) the then-dormant NJ Sports Massage Team, which continues to be active, and he
currently serves as board member of the AMTA of New Jersey. In 2003 Ed toured with
Ofoto Lombardi, a Division III cycling team from California (which included the notable
Tour de Georgia), and continues as therapist for eight of those athletes.
Ed has been on contract for sports massage with the Rutgers Football team, and has
taught health and sports massage at both Centenary College and Union County College.
Ed loves to work with non-athletes as well, both as a therapist and in teaching people
(individuals,friends/groups, or couples) simple Swedish techniques they can use on their
own — which ease tension, release physical and mental blocks, and enhance nonverbal
communication.
Ed is a certified holistic practitioner through the Velazquez System of Training. The
Velazquez System is a synthesis of principles and techniques of medical models, somatic
techniques, sports psychology, psychotherapy methods, organizational management and
spiritual traditions both ancient and contemporary.
Ed maintains his own practice, Total Massage Therapy, in Boonton, New Jersey. He is a
businessman with a heart and believes every client is unique and has specific needs and
comfort levels. He customizes his treatment to give maximum results. He works with his
hands and his heart, and that makes all the difference.
